The Paris Mayor’s Office has added a “Learning French” page to their Website with tips on who can take classes and where. Staying in Paris awhile? Check your with your local mayor’s office (each arrondissement has one) for information on municipal classes. No restrictions on nationality or residence status. You must be over 18.<\/p>\n

Paris Mayor’s office suggestions for\u00a0Learning French <\/strong>(Fran\u00e7ais Langue \u00c9trang\u00e8re) Via their link (“Contact here”) on the Learning French page, send an email to them with your questions. Classes are held between September and into June, Tuesday mornings or Thursday evenings.<\/p>\n

If you are over 18, any nationality, any profession, you can take a municipal course at the mayor’s office in each arrondissement.
\nHints for reading “Consult the list of municipal classes (in French)”.\u00a0\u00a0The current brochure is available in English, Arabe, Spanish and Chinese. Click on your language. In French\u00a0Sign up period \u00a0is: “P\u00e9riode d’inscription”.\u00a0In the link “Calendrier d’inscription” are the current class\/semester dates.
\nThe French as a foreign language (F.L.E.) classes are tailored to non-French speakers with various needs in five levels.\u00a0Classes are also available for the Dipl\u00f4me d\u2019\u00e9tudes en langue fran\u00e7aise (D.E.L.F.), a qualification of the Ministry for Education.<\/span>
\nOnce your course is determined, the cost depends on the length (annual or half-year classes) and the number of hours per week.

Speed Speaking in French\/English<\/strong>
\nFranglish<\/strong>\u00a0is a French\/English language exchange event taking place four to five times per week in some of the best venues across Paris.<\/p>\n

It is a one-to-one conversation event. People participate in at least 5 sessions of 15 minutes each (one native French speaker and one native English speaker). During one session, French is spoken half the time and English the other half.<\/p>\n

After each session participants switch tables and meet a new language partner. It is very easy for people to learn a language and meet locals in a friendly atmosphere.<\/p>\n

Over 30 people attend each event and it’s a good mix of ages, and their French\/English doesn’t have to be perfect. A lot of people come who speak very little French\/English. A bilingual organizer is there to guide and help people during the events.<\/p>\n

The Web site “eHow” contains a page for “\u00a0<\/strong>How to Learn Key French Phrases<\/strong>” They list the top five on the home page. When you click on one, it takes you to the video page. Below the video screen is the entire selection of common French phrases that Expert Village has produced.
