This is a good portion of my Summer Newsletter which contains information about dates and activities for the Paris 2011 summer.<\/p>\n

The summer Festival de Saint-Denis<\/a><\/strong> , takes place in June and July<\/strong>. The entire program is shown on their home page. Click on “Voir le D\u00e9tail” for information about each concert in French and English. Listen to an extrait of Charpentier’s Te Deum, which opens the 2011 program 8:30 p.m. at the Basilica. Some concerts are in the Basilica and some in the L\u00e9gion d\u2019Honneur.<\/p>\n

For ticket prices, click on “Bulletin de Locations.” The Adobe Reader document shows dates, times, category prices for each concert.<\/p>\n

Olivier Giraud<\/strong>‘s show, “How to become Parisian in one hour<\/a><\/strong>”\u00a0 is still a hit – pick dates through August – He is taking the show on the road touring in 2013.<\/p>\n

What’s On for the Summer and daily in Paris?<\/strong>
\nFollow the live timeline for what is happening daily in Paris! This is a great new feature for events. The Que faire \u00e0 Paris page <\/em><\/strong><\/a>is part of the Paris Mayor’s office (Mairie de Paris). Use Google Translate\u00a0 for the\u00a0 because the text is available in French.<\/p>\n

The following are the highlights:
\nJune 18<\/strong> – F\u00eate de la Musique<\/strong> – application is available for download for smartphones.<\/p>\n

June 27 – July 16 <\/strong>–\u00a0 Look for a temporary garden in Paris. On the H\u00f4tel de Ville plaza the theme will be trees and forests.<\/p>\n

July 2-13<\/strong> – Paris Cin\u00e9ma<\/a><\/strong> – The all-night cinema at Forum des Images sets the tone with a “quirky, erotic, trash and fantastic night on Saturday July 2. About 250 films will be shown.
\nFor movie buffs, keep an eye on their Web site for ticket information, venues and film tributes.<\/p>\n

July 14<\/strong> – Fireworks for Bastille Day<\/strong>
\nThe theme is “Broadway in Paris” (Broadway \u00e0 Paris). The fireworks are shot off from the Trocad\u00e9ro basin. The best views are recommended from either the Champ-de-Mars or Place du Trocad\u00e9ro. They start at 11 p.m.<\/p>\n

July 21 – August 21 Paris Plages<\/a><\/strong> – The tenth edition of Paris Plage will have ten times more sand this year! Dunes will be created, larger umbrellas, kids’ playground near Pont-au-Change…. Concerts are scheduled on the H\u00f4tel de Ville plaza between July 21 and 24.<\/p>\n

August 3 – 21, 2011<\/strong> – Eleventh annual Cin\u00e9ma au Clair de Lune<\/a><\/strong> (like being at a drive-in during the full moon without the car). Movies under the stars for free in many of the neighborhoods in Paris. Keep an eye on the Forum des Images Web site for the program, under “Festivals and \u00e9v\u00e9nements” . They are only on June right now.<\/p>\n
