The following two exhibits are at the same Hotel de Ville – one entrance fronts rue de Rivoli and the other is around the corner on the street, Lobau.<\/p>\n

The Impressionists at the Hotel de Ville <\/strong>

The Caillebotte Brothers’ Private World<\/strong><\/a> is on exhibit at the Jacquemart-Andre Museum<\/strong> until July 11, 2011. (Web site available in English – click on flag in upper-right corner).\u00a0 The two brothers, one a painter and the other a photographer, capture Paris as it modernizes. Normally, the audio guide for the permanent exhibition is free with admission. There is a 3.50 euros charge during the temporary exhibit, which includes a magnifying souvenir to get up close to those photos. The cost of admission is the same for both the permanent and the temporary exhibit. Colleen’s Paris<\/strong><\/a> has reviewed this exhibition.<\/p>\n

The audio guide was excellent to understand why the fellow in the row boat is where a top hat and not a “chapeau canotier<\/a>“, the perspective of the glassware on the lunch table, the photos showing the pull carts, omnibus accidents involving horses, the ratio of the horses to people, the theory of why there are so many of the same sailboat in one painting, etc.<\/p>\n
