You can either bite into it directly or use a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/OnQdjG3_ecY\" title=\"a French method\">French method<\/a> my husband showed me. Cut the center with a knife and slip in a pat of butter. Butter in France is either <em>doux<\/em> (sweet) or <em>sal\u00e9<\/em> (salted). I could have sprinkled some salt or dipped it in salt, the sweet butter catching the grains. Two other thoughts when eating a radish: Are they in season? and which wine is it paired with? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed alignleft is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"How Do You Eat a French Radish?\" width=\"1170\" height=\"658\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OnQdjG3_ecY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In season, my tastebuds like mildly flavorable and not bitter. Some varieties are spicy. One lunch time, after asking the server for advice at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.squaretrousseau.com\" title=\"Square Trousseau 12th arrondissement\">Square Trousseau<\/a> restaurant, I paired a Pouilly-Fum\u00e9 with my two-tone <em>Radis Flamboyant<\/em> (flaming radish)or <em>Radis de 18 jours<\/em> (18-day radish).\u00a0The radishes are so delicious in October, I went out and bought my own. French radishes are two-toned red and white, red, purple or yellow. The regular harvest period depends on the variety. Those from October are usually from a green house.
