The works of Beauford Delaney, a figurative, abstract expressionist, i.e., modernist painter, are being shown in the first solo exhibition since 1992. The exhibit,\u00a0Beauford Delaney: Resonance of Form and Vibration of Color, opens February 3 with a Vernissage in Paris in the Grande Salle at Columbia Global Centers Europe \u00a0at Reid Hall (Columbia University\u2019s Paris facility), 4 Rue de Chevreuse, 75006 Paris, Metro: Vavin line 4. The Wells International Foundation is sponsoring the exhibition of over 40 paintings and works on paper by the Paris expatriate artist Beauford Delaney (1901-1979) continues until February 29, 2016<\/span><\/span>. \n<\/span><\/p>\n

The height of his Harlem renaissance career was during the 1930s and 1940s. He developed as an abstract expressionist as a Paris expatriate in the 1950s. Private collectors in the Paris region are loaning the works and most have never been seen by the general public before. A round table discussion on \u201cMulticulturalism in Today\u2019s Art World\u201d is scheduled for February 18<\/span><\/span> and a celebration of Beauford Delaney\u2019s personal life in Paris on February 21<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n
