Sitting along the Seine on the Ile-Saint Louis, Quai d’Orl\u00e9ans in October<\/p><\/div>\n

Sometimes views only change with the seasons. I had to wonder how many times these same scenes have been photographed over the years. The scenes are iconic and never seem to be boring.<\/p>\n

We went for a walk along the Seine yesterday between Gare d’Austerlitz and Cathr\u00e9dale Notre-Dame de Paris. We enjoyed a salad for dinner on the Ile-Saint-Louis with the sun setting.<\/p>\n

The boats and barges on the Seine in Paris are used for sightseeing, sunset cruises, dances, restaurants, shows, housing and special events. One boat where we used to go for magic shows is now a restaurant.<\/p>\n

People were lined up at the Notre-Dame Batobus* stop. Were they all in line for the sunset cruise? Not all could be accommodated, and they waited for the next “bus”.<\/p>\n

*The Batobus stops at nine locations: Eiffel Tower, Mus\u00e9e d’Orsay, St-Germain-des-Pr\u00e9s, Notre-Dame, Jardin des Plantes\/Cit\u00e9 de la Mode et du Design, H\u00f4tel-de-ville, Louvre, Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es and Beaugrenelle.\u00a0 Hop on, hop off where you want, when you want, as often as you want, as long as it is valid! Passes are available for one or two days (consecutive) with unlimited travel.<\/p>\n

Batobus Prices (2015: 16-19 euros, lower prices for holders of student cards or Imagine R, Navigo, Int\u00e9grale, Emeraude and Am\u00e9thyste, and ‘large family card’)<\/p>\n

Do you have children who read French?? There is a Treasure Hunt that lasts a half day. They solve seven riddles at four Batobus stops. Parents receive a treasure hunt booklet with puzzle answers and Paris anecdotes. Someday I may ask them if I can translate the hunt!<\/p>\n
